Lewisville ISD
Buddy and his wife, Rebecca, who is a counselor at Briarhill Middle School, have a blended family of five children, all of whom have attended and/or graduated from Lewisville ISD schools including Lewisville High School (1) and Marcus High School (3). Their youngest child attends Marcus High School.
Dr. Bonner has served on the Board of Trustees since 2021 and continued his advocacy for Lewisville ISD by serving as Vice President (2023) and a member of several committees including:

- Finance Audit Committee
- Program & Budget Review Committee
- Finance Fund Balance Committee
- Finance Debt Management Committee
- Superintendent Evaluation Committee
- Legislative Committee
Dr. Buddy Bonner is a retired public school educator who worked in Lewisville ISD for three decades in a variety of increasingly responsible instructional leadership and administrative roles, and Board of Trustee service including:

- Central Zone Leader / Lewisville HS Feeder Pattern, 2011-2015
